COSC's HVAC workshops are dedicated to providing contractors the best educational resource for advancing their profession.
Presented by COSC's Re-Building a Sustainable Iowa statewide training program. The following programs are available free-of-charge for a limited time thanks to funding from the Iowa Department of Economic Development (IDED) and the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Day 1 Topics |
In this intensive day of training you’ll learn to determine the actual Effective Efficiency of any functioning HVAC system. Learn and perform static pressure and temperature diagnostics that will improve your ability to identify the unseen causes of poor system efficiency and performance. Using NCI’s exclusive HeatMaxx™ and CoolMaxx™ diagnostic reports, you can open your customer’s eyes to a new dimension in system performance, while creating new sales opportunities for your business. This day is packed with practical hands-on exercises and diagnostic tools. |
Day 2 Topics |
Building on the skills learned during the first day, this class focuses on the next level of system diagnostics and rating. NCI’s PerforMaxx™ testing will prepare you to take essential air property tests, including external static pressure, pressure drops, airflow traverses, and duct loss. You’ll leave equipped with all the necessary testing skills, reference tables and charts, formulas and engineering data to perform a comprehensive system performance rating report. System renovation sales, proposal writing, and pricing strategies round out this day, ending with an NCI Residential Air Balancing certification. |

PROFESSIONAL RATER / HVAC PERFORMANCE TESTING AND BALANCING |
OVERVIEW |
| For this 2-day workshop, Cenergy discusses quality installation of high efficiency heating and cooling systems, with the goal of increasing base knowledge of HVAC systems through practical application. Accompanying on-site training sessions at 3 to 5 residential homes will be scheduled during the weeks following classroom training. NCI Residential Air Balancing Certification upon successful completion of class and test. |
