Focused on environmental education and awareness, Earthpark's programs and exhibits will emphasize natural science, sustainability, renewable energy and green technologies.  Learning tools will include a 4-acre indoor rainforest biome with a 575,000 gallon integrated forest-floor aquarium, learning center and research facilities.  Green design and building technologies will be utilized throughout Earthpark and featured as educational opportunities.  Other tools will include galleries on global hotspots, climate change and other environmental concerns, local ecosystems, art and cultural exhibits.  The facility will be located on the north shore of Lake Red Rock in Pella, Iowa, as park of a materplanned "live, work and play" green development.  Earthpark is expected to open in 2011.
